Two typefaces come with the app: Literata, a serif made for long reading, and iA Writer Quattro, a sans. Text starts at 17 points; the line is measured in characters and can be narrow, medium or wide. Line spacing, the space between paragraphs and the first-line indent change the page, not the file.

Settings › Interface
Under Paper, choose Light, Sepia or Dark, or let the system decide. Below, you can hide the header while you write, keep the sidebar closed when a project opens, show it with two fingers on the trackpad, and remove the F. at the end of the text.
Settings › Writing and Projects
Writing has the writing modes, what the line below the page counts, and spelling and grammar. Projects has the folder where new projects are created, and the backup folder.
