Saving
Every document saves itself a second after your last keystroke, when you switch documents and when you close. There is no Save command, and no need for one.
Undo
⌘Z undoes where you acted: on the page, the last change to that document, which has an undo of its own; in the sidebar, the last change to the project.
When a document changes elsewhere
If a document changes in another app, on another Mac or through Git, Finis updates it by itself. If you changed it here too, Finis overwrites nothing and asks what to do: Merge, Keep Your Version, Use the Other or Compare. Files renamed or moved in the Finder are found again, with their information.
Backups
Every day, and every time you close, Finis copies the project to a separate folder, keeping the last 14 daily and 8 weekly backups, the last of every month, and always the last five, even after months. File › Back Up Now makes one right away; File › Restore from Backup… reopens a copy wherever you choose, next to the project to begin with, without touching it.
To get back a single document, the inspector’s Versions tab also lists its copies in the backups, one for each different text, to compare and restore.
